An Original Vintage Theatrical 8 1/4" x 10 1/4" [21 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

Cornered, the 1946 Edward Dmytryk post-World War II Buenos Aires Argentina murder crime film noir ("The New Dick Powell gets rougher, tougher and more terrific!"; "Tempting... yet deadly!"; about a Canadian flyer who married a Frenchwoman during World War II, and she was killed by a collaborator, and he wants to find out who was responsible and get revenge, and that search leads him to Buenos Aires, where there are lots of Nazis in hiding) starring Dick Powell, Walter Slezak, Micheline Cheirel, Nina Vale, Morris Carnovsky, Edgar Barrier, and Luther Adler. Note that Dick Powell had been a cheerful leading man in romantic musical comedies of the 1930s, and in 1944, he reinvented himself by playing Phillip Marlowe in "Murder, My Sweet", and with this movie, he continued that transformation, and the studio advertised him as "The New Dick Powell".
