eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 8z1232 NAVIGATOR LC 1924 classic image of Kathryn McGuire using Buster Keaton in diving suit as raft! Date Sold 6/10/2021Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Navigator, the 1924 Donald Crisp & Buster Keaton silent seafaring sailor romantic comedy (about a sailor and a pretty girl trapped on an abandoned ship, trying to get home) starring Buster Keaton, Frederick Vroom, Kathryn McGuire, Donald Crisp, and Noble Johnson (as the chief of the cannibals!). Note that this is surely one of Buster Keaton's finest movies! It would seem that the gags would get repetitive with the two actors alone on a ship, and yet Keaton continually comes up with new clever comedy that does not feel repetitive, and is very, very funny! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this lobby card, and that was 6 years ago, when it sold for $745! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. The card was folded down the middle and there is clear tape on the back of that fold. There is darkening in the light colored areas and thumb tack holes in the upper left and right borders that did not darken. There is also an area of lesser darkening in the top blank border. Other than the tape, the card has had no restoration. It can certainly be displayed and enjoyed as is, or one might choose to have restoration performed. Learn More about condition grades
