An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Thunderbolt, the 1935 Stuart Paton canine German Shepherd dog cowboy western ("The story of a heroic dog and a loyal boy!"; "Original story and screenplay by Jack T.O. Gevne"; about an orphan boy who becomes friends with a prospector and his police dog Thunderbolt, and the dog rescues him from both a burning cabin and the outlaws who killed his father) starring Lobo (billed as "the Marvel Dog"), Kane Richmond, Bobby Nelson, Fay McKenzie, Barney Furey, Lafe McKee, Robert McKenzie, and Frank Hagney. Note that a very long time collector of posters like these tells us that he has the pressbook for this movie, and that, while the one-sheet credits Regal Productions at bottom center, that company is not listed in the pressbook, and he does not know exactly why that would be, and neither do we. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that Lobo the Marvel Dog first appeared in 1935's "Guard That Girl" and this was the only other movie he appeared in! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned three examples of this one-sheet, and the last one was 7 years ago! Also note that, as noted above, this poster has a production company credited that is not in a pressbook that a collector told us about. However, the poster has a litho number, and comparing this number to our massive database of litho numbers taken from actual movie posters, we can determine that this poster is almost certainly from 1935, which means it is surely the first release poster for this movie.
