An Autographed 8" x 9 3/4" [20 x 25 cm] Publicity Still (Learn More) Natalie Wood was an actress from the 1940s to the 1980s. She is one of the small number of child stars who successfully transitioned to both adolescent roles and leading actress roles. Some of her movies include: Love With The Proper Stranger (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), West Side Story, The Searchers, Rebel Without A Cause (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Miracle on 34th Street, The Great Race, and Splendor In The Grass (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film). Tragically, she died under suspicious circumstances in 1981 in a drowning incident. She was 43 years old. Important Added Info: Note that this publicity still has been personally autographed (signed) by Natalie Wood! Our consignor worked as a publicist for the studios in the 1970s, and he met Miss Wood in 1976 at the San Francisco Film Festival. She inscribed the photo to him as he stood in front of her. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to be authentic. Note that, before it was signed, our consignor received the still from a long-time studio employee, and it is a publicity still created by the studio and not a reproduction.
