An Autographed 2 1/4" x 5 3/4" [6 x 15 cm] Cut Album Page (Learn More) Bela Lugosi was one of the top two horror actors from the 1930s (along with Boris Karloff) in movies such as Dracula, Island of Lost Souls, The Wolf Man, The Body Snatcher, and the Black Cat. His portrayal of Dracula was so memorable, that it caused movie makers to only want him to play similar roles, and in the minds of many horror fans, there is no other Dracula BUT Bela Lugosi! Note that Mr. Lugosi was born in what was then Austria-Hungary, but is now Romania. He passed away in 1956 at the age of 73. Important Added Info: This cut album page has been personally autographed (signed) by Bela Lugosi. It is not dated in any way, but apparently, the other side of the page was signed by Dean Jagger, and the owner of the album pasted two images with a bio of Jagger on the back, and the bio appears to be from the 1930s, so we are guessing the album is from that time (but of course, it could be from a later time, although we would be surprised if it was from after the 1940s). It could be matted with a vintage or repro still and framed together to make a cool display! Note that this item was consigned to us by a man who has been a major movie memorabilia collector and dealer from the 1970s on. During that time, he would regularly purchase collections of movie memorabilia from both dealers and collectors, and in some of those collections he purchased autographed items. Both we and our consignor feel it is quite likely that the autograph on this item is authentic, but he does not have a certificate of authenticity (unless noted above). Condition: good. The items that were pasted on the back of the page slightly shows through to the front (as seen in our image). Certainly, any restorer could remove those from the back, and I think that afterwards, there would be little or no effect on the front, but please do not bid on this autograph unless you can accept this defect and the uncertainty of how it will look after the items glued to the back are removed.
