Campbell Jr."; it is a re-make of the 1951 movie, "The Thing from Another World", based on the same story, and with James Arness as "The Thing") starring Kurt Russell, Wilford Brimley, T.K. Carter, David Clennon, Keith David, Richard Dysart, Charles Hallahan, Peter Maloney, Richard Masur, Donald Moffat, Joel Polis, and Thomas G. Waites. This is one of Carpenter's best movies, and in many ways it is more enjoyable and superior to the original version! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this cool promo book contains the entire original 1938 source story (it was called "Who Goes There?" and was written by legendary science fiction author/editor John W. Campbell Jr.), and the point of printing this was both to let people enjoy the original story and also to see that the 1982 version was much more faithful to the original than the 1951 version.
