He left Hollywood at the start of World War II to serve in the Army, first as a private and eventually as a captain. In 1950 he married Diana Barrymore, but passed away in 1955 at the age of 45 from a heart attack. Barrymore chronicled their stormy relationship in her 1957 autobiography Too Much, Too Soon (she dedicated the book to him), and Ed Kemmer portrayed Wilcox in the 1958 movie based on the book. Some of his movies include: Mysterious Doctor Satan, The Man They Could Not Hang, and Little Tough Guy Important Added Info: Note that these stills all feature a specific actor or actress (sometimes portraits, but often in a scene from a movie that they were in). They come from the collection of Ken Jones, who was an author of many books about old-time actors, including many character actors. He collected on all the stars that he enjoyed, and this is a rare opportunity to get a number of stills at one time from this specific star! Condition: good to very good.
