An Original Vintage Linenbacked French One-Panel Poster (measures 45 1/4" x 62 1/4"; known as a 'grande' poster in France) (Learn More)

Jane Marny was a French singer and actress from the 1930s to the 1940s. Some of her movies include: A Friend Will Come Tonight, Love Cavalcade, Paris-Soleil, Pas sur la Bouche, and The Fortune. If anyone knows more about this person, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare country of origin poster from France!

Condition: good. The poster had some tears in the lower center of the image and some creases in the upper center of the image. They were only lightly touched up by the person who linenbacked the poster. The poster was very roughly handled after it was linenbacked, and there are now many creases running down the left and right side of the linen and the ones on the right side extend into the right edge of the blank border of the poster itself. If I owned this striking poster, I would have it re-backed by a talented professional. After proper linenbacking and touch up of the defects noted above, the poster will look great!

This poster was linenbacked, and it had significant defects which were only somewhat repaired during the linenbacking process, or were not repaired at all (we describe both the defects as well as the quality of the restoration below, and based on those comments, you can easily determine which type of poster it is). You should also look at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!).
