An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style C One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Her Cardboard Lover, the 1942 George Cukor romantic love triangle gambling comedy ("Playing with love is risky, but such fun!"; about a wealthy woman who hires a broke gambler to pretend to be her lover to put off a suitor, but then he actually falls in love with her) starring Norma Shearer (in her final screen appearance), Robert Taylor, George Sanders, Frank McHugh, Elizabeth Patterson, and Chill Wills. Note that Shearer remarried in 1942 after being widowed by Irving Thalberg in 1936, and retired after completing this film. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tears and areas of paper loss down the center, with some tiny paper loss scattered on the horizontal folds. There were tears and areas of paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
