An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded French One-Panel "Grande" Movie Poster (1p; measures 46 3/4" x 63" [119 x 160 cm]) (Learn More)

Annabella (born Suzanne Georgette Charpentier) was a French actress from the 1920s to the 1970s. She appeared in "Napoleon" in 1927 and became a major French star. In 1938, she made "Suez" with Tyrone Power Jr., and afterwards married him, and remained in Hollywood for nine years, and was always billed as "Annabella". Some of her movies include: Hotel du Nord, Le Million, and Quatorze Juillet. She passed away in 1996 at the age of 89.
Artist: Emilio Vila
Important Added Info: Note that we have only auctioned one example of this poster before and it sold for $825! Also note that this is an extremely rare French poster from before World War II! Virtually no French posters survive from before World War II since apparently there were many paper shortages in Europe during World War II, resulting in the destruction of almost all posters from before and World War II, and also from during the war, and the first few years afterwards.

Condition: fair to good. The poster was exposed to moisture while folded and there is discoloration, deterioration and paper loss in portions of the folds and crossfolds, and the paper around those areas has "softened" (see our image). There is paper loss at lower left. After proper restoration the ultra rare poster will display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
