Zanuck; about a mentally ill schizophrenic woman who is placed in a mental institution, quite daring for its time, and one of the few movies ever to give an accurate portrayal of schizophrenia and its treatment at that time; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Olivia De Havilland (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Mark Stevens, Leo Genn, Celeste Holm, Glenn Langan, Helen Craig, Leif Erickson, Beulah Bondi, Lee Patrick, Howard Freeman, Natalie Schafer, Ruth Donnelly, Katherine Locke, Frank Conroy, and Minna Gombell. Note that Betsy Blair has an important minor role as a mute patient who talks at the film's conclusion, and also note that Jan Clayton sings the song "Going Home" at a dance in the movie (this was the song that was played at FDR's funeral, and was based on both Negro spirituals and music of Antonin Dvorak).
