An Original Vintage World War I Poster (measures 27 1/2" x 30" [70 x 76 cm]) (Learn More) Have you Answered the Red Cross Christmas Roll Call?, the 1918 U.S. World War I (WWI) charity poster encouraging people to support the Red Cross, and featuring Harrison Fisher art of a Red Cross nurse extending her hand as soldiers march behind with an American flag Artist: Harrison Fisher Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this World War I poster! The poster was placed on to a very thin linen backing, likely shortly after being printed. The purpose was to reinforce the poster, so that it would survive, when it was passed from location to location, and when it was put up on walls and taken down. While the poster can be displayed and enjoyed exactly as it is, such posters can be professionally removed from the original linen and placed on to a proper linen backing. I have done this to several such posters, and they end up looking wonderful, but this will be the choice of the new owner of the poster! Condition: very good. The poster was mounted onto thin linen (see above). It has tiny paper loss at the crossfold and a few tiny tears around the edges, with a crease in the bottom center that slightly enters the lettering. Learn More about condition grades
