Note that this movie featured sensational "special effects" for its day, and had several wonderful sequences that looked like they required the building of massive sets, yet in most cases, matte paintings created the illusion of those massive sets! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been paperbacked. This means the poster was backed onto a board backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. ALSO NOTE: In this case, the #5 in the title of the sale is not the number of the lobby card. Because we are selling more than one lobby card from this movie this week as separate eBay sales, we needed to differentiate the different sales, and we did so by marking them "#1, #2, #3, etc..". Condition: very good. the card was professionally paperbacked; prior to paperbacking, the blank borders of the card were very tattered, and the restorer placed new paper over the old damaged areas, and did so well, that I think most people would not realize it unless it was pointed out to them! It appears the image area had no substantial defects other than a light vertical crease that ran down the left 4" of the card, down the center of Sabu's head; the paperbacking has so minimized this crease that it is truly only noticeable on close inspection or when the card is tilted to the light; it appears there were a several pinholes in each corner of the image and a few other minor defects scattered through the image, but the restoration was so well done that it is difficult to see exactly what was done! While this great card WAS restored, it was exceptionally well done and I think that anyone who could accept such restoration would be very pleased to own this card! Learn More about condition grades
