An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Chapter #10 ("Trapped") One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Three Musketeers, the 1933 Colbert Clark & Armand Schaefer Foreign Legion military action adventure serial ("A Modern Version"; "A Smashing Serial In 12 Thrilling Chapters"; loosely based on the classic novel by Alexandre Dumas) starring John Wayne, Ruth Hall, Jack Mulhall, Raymond Hatton, Ralph Bushman (billed as "Francis X. Bushman Jr."), Noah Beery Jr., Lon Chaney Jr. (billed under his given name of "Creighton Chaney"), and Robert Warwick. Note that this is a then-modern day version of the Dumas classic, with Mulhall, Hatton, and Bushman as the modern day Three Musketeers and John Wayne as the modern day D'Artagnan. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good to very good. This poster was linenbacked, but it was either NOT linenbacked by a very talented restorer, or it was linenbacked many years ago, and has received rough handling over the years. You can see signs of the restoration from a distance. This is a poster that would greatly benefit from additional professional restoration. See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). good. The poster has two evenly spaced vertical foldlines instead of the usual one. There are horizontal scuff lines across Wayne's face and a few in the face of the Arab he is holding. There were creases, small tears, and a few tiny areas of paper loss on some foldlines. This poster is an ideal candidate for re-backing. The original restorer did not leave any excess linen, and also mounted it on to a thin linen, and the poster has been bumped around the edges resulting in tears, creases, and some small paper loss in the blank borders. There is scuffing and smudges in the solid purple areas in the inset and smudges and faint stains around the edges of the poster. If the poster is re-backed, the restorer can surely touch up the fine scuff lines in Wayne's face so that they are barely noticeable (they really are not very noticeable even now), and also repair the other defects, and the poster will look great!
