Under the Red Robe, the 1923 Alan Crosland silent France royal court religious historical melodrama ("Adapted by Bayard Veiller from the novel by Stanley Weyman"; "An all star cast") starring Robert B. Mantell (as Cardinal Richelieu), John Charles Thomas, Alma Rubens, Otto Kruger, William Powell (in his fifth role, billed as "William H. Powell"), Ian Maclaren (as King Louis XIII), and Genevieve Hamper. Note that this movie was remade in 1937 starring Raymond Massey and Conrad Veidt.

Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a herald and a single 8x10 still from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this one-sheet!

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and pretty minor fold wear. It appears that there was some kind of staining in the upper right yellow area and that the restorer painted over it, but we can't find another image of the poster to compare it to, and it is very odd. Other than the odd yellow area at top right, the poster is in pretty nice condition. The new owner can either choose to have additional restoration performed, or accept this extremely rare poster as it is.
