An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81" [104 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) Gun Crazy, the 1950 Joseph H. Lewis bad girl crime film noir ("Thrill crazy... Kill crazy..."; "The Flaming Life of Laurie Starr [the lethal blonde]"; "...her violent loves! ...her vicious crimes! ...her wild escapes!"; "Notorious Laurie Starr! ...wanted in a dozen states... hunted by the F.B.I.!"; "She was more than any man could handle!"; "From The Saturday Evening Post Story by MacKinlay Kantor") starring Peggy Cummins, John Dall, Berry Kroeger, Russ Tamblyn, and Don Beddoe. Note that in 1949 Joseph H. Lewis had released this movie as "Deadly Is the Female". In 1950 he re-titled this movie "Gun Crazy" and gave it a full-scale release under that name. There are posters of all sizes and lobby cards for both titles (which is why we list them as two separate titles), and the "Gun Crazy" paper has never been called a "re-release" within the hobby, although technically it is. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that most collectors consider the "Gun Crazy" posters to be among the most desirable film noir posters, both because they have great campy images, and because the movie itself is wonderful. While the "Gun Crazy" one-sheet has a nice image, most collectors prefer the great image on this three-sheet, with its classic taglines and fantastic art! Note that we have auctioned three examples of this poster, but they were between 10 and 23 years ago, and they auctioned for $5,700, $4,620, and $3,750! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had small paper loss at some crossfolds and some creases, tears, and tiny paper loss on parts of some foldlines. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Note that the restorer left a tiny bit of excess linen around all four sides of the poster (they left a small border in order to protect the poster from handling damage, but they did not leave a larger border, to allow it to more easily fit in a frame, which means that this wonderful poster can be quickly framed, and I am already envious of the new owner, and certainly hope they will display this prominently in their home!).
