An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Wild One, the classic 1953 Laszlo Benedek (billed as "Laslo Benedek") romantic bad teen motorcycle biker melodrama ("That 'Streetcar' Man Has A New Desire!"; "C'mon, baby, let's have fun!"; "Hot Feelings Hit Terrifying Heights In A Story That Really Boils Over!"; "Jazzed-up 'beats' on a bust-up binge!"; "C'mon, baby, let's have a ball!"; "Driven too far be his own Hot Blood"; "Based on a Story by Frank Rooney"; produced by Stanley Kramer) starring Marlon Brando ("Marlon Brando is the only man who could play The Wild One"), Mary Murphy, Robert Keith, Lee Marvin, Yvonne Doughty (as "Britches"), Peggy Maley, Hugh Sanders, Harry Landers, and Jerry Paris NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). good to very good. There were many creases in the upper right of the image (going into Brando's hair and a diagonal crease across his forehead and another across his cheek touching the edge of his mouth). There was small paper loss at the top two crossfolds and larger paper loss at the bottom crossfold. There were creases and some tears on the bottom foldline. There were pinholes, creases, and smudges around the edges of the poster. The poster is in better condition than the above makes it sound! Linenbacking greatly minimized the effect of the poster's many creases and small tears, and from any distance away, the defects pretty much vanish, and the poster looks quite nice!
