Finally, note that anyone who saw this movie remembers well the archery contest which comes down to Errol Flynn in disguise and Owain the Welshman, but few people know that Owain was played by the world's greatest archer, Howard Hill, and that he also did Flynn's bow and arrow stunts shown in the movie! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this 1940 first release Japanese press sheet! Posters from Japan from before Pearl Harbor in 1941 are extremely rare, and posters from major movies are even more rare. An advanced Japanese collector tells us it is from the first Japanese release of this movie in Japan, which occurred in 1940. He tells us that the poster surely dates from the first release because after World War II it was decided in Japan that their writing would always be from left to right, but on this poster the writing is from right to left, which only occurred before World War II! In addition, the Japanese characters used on both sides of the poster are very classic ones. We showed this image to several major Japanese dealers and collectors and they all agree it makes sense that it is from 1940! Also note that we have provided an image of each side of the press sheet. Note that this Japanese press sheet measures 11 1/2" x 22" [29 x 56 cm]. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good to fine. The rare press sheet has only some minor fold wear and overall it is in excellent condition! Learn More about condition grades
