A 1949 Re-Release Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Freaks, the classic 1932 Tod Browning circus romantic love triangle horror fantasy thriller ("Do Siamese Twins make love? What sex is the half-man, half-woman? Can the Pinheads think? Can a full-grown woman truly love a midget?"; "Freaks makes these strange creatures as human as you!"; "An unusual love drama"; with actual circus sideshow human oddities!) starring Wallace Ford, Leila Hyams, Olga Baclanova (as Cleopatra, who turns into the Chicken Woman at the end of the movie!), Roscoe Ates, Henry Victor (as Hercules), Harry Earles (as Hans), Daisy Earles (as Frieda), Rose Dione, Daisy Hilton & Violet Hilton (the Siamese Twins), Schlitze (as himself), Josephine Joseph (as the Half Woman/Half Man), Johnny Eck (as the Half Boy), Frances O'Connor (as an Armless Girl), Peter Robinson (as the Human Skeleton), Olga Roderick (as the Bearded Lady), Koo Koo (the "Bird Girl", as herself), Prince Randian (billed as "Rardion"; as The Living Torso), Martha Morris (as an Armless Girl), Elvira Snow (as a Pinhead), Jenny Lee Snow (as a Pinhead), Elizabeth Green (as a Bird Girl), Angelo Rossitto (one of the most successful "little people" actors from the 1920s on), Edward Brophy, Matt McHugh, and John Aasen (as the Giant). Note that in an extremely odd movie, it was even odder that brother and sister Harry and Daisy Earles played boyfriend and girlfriend! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that original Freaks lobby cards sell for thousands of dollars, and yet they barely show any of the "freaks". Most of the 1949 re-release cards and posters show prominent images of the "freaks"! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: fair to good. There are three tiny pinholes in Schlitze's face (one in his mouth and two in his cheek) three tiny pinholes in the woman's wrist, and a few pinholes around the edges. There are several faint scuffs in the middle right of the image, affecting the figures at right, with some other faint scuffs across the top of the image. There are some tiny creases and a few tiny tears in the left of the top blank border. There is a faint tape stain and a tiny bit of surface paper loss on the back of each corner. In spite of these many defects, the card would display fairly well from a reasonable viewing distance, because they become far less noticeable, but certainly, one would much prefer an unrestored example of this card. See our super-sized images to get a good sense of the condition of this very rare card. Learn More about condition grades
