A 1962 Re-release Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French Movie Poster (measures 22 1/4" x 30 3/4") (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's Dial M For Murder, the classic 1954 Alfred Hitchcock 3-D (3D; 3-Dimension) romantic love triangle crime murder mystery detective suspense thriller ("...is that you, darling?"; "Written by Frederick Knott who wrote the International Stage Success"; "If a woman answers... hang on for dear life!"; "Is this the man she was waiting for... or the man who was waiting for her?"; "Perfect 3 Dimension in the Hitchcock manner!") starring Ray Milland, Grace Kelly, Robert Cummings (Bob Cummings), John Williams, and Anthony Dawson. Note that, although this movie was filmed in 3-D, none of the original posters mention it at all (there is an explanation in the pressbook that because they know many theaters will not show it in 3-D, "the ads have been designed so that the 3D copy may be eliminated" [and obviously, this is why they did not put 3-D on the posters]). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Joseph Koutachy Important Added Info: Note that this French poster measures 22 1/4" x 30 3/4" and is linenbacked. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Note that we gave this condition grade to a very few posters that were in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking, but which were not all that well linenbacked, and which could be fairly easily re-backed with only minor additional restoration. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfold and minor fold wear. There were some faint scuffs in the top couple of inches of the poster.
