An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style A Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More)

Target Earth, the 1954 Sherman A. Rose science fiction (sci-fi) thriller ("Raw Panic the screen never dared to reveal!"; "You'll be paralyzed with fear... By an incredible spectacle man has never seen before!") starring Richard Denning, Kathleen Crowley, Virginia Grey, Richard Reeves, Robert Roark (billed as "Featuring Robert Roark"), and Steve Calvert (in an uncredited role as the man in the gorilla suit AND as a robot!). Note that in 1948, Steve Calvert bought Ray 'Crash' Corrigan's gorilla costume, which Corrigan had been using in movies since at least 1932. He appeared in 12 movies between 1948 and 1958 as a gorilla wearing Corrigan's costume!

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had a few tiny tears and tiny bits of paper loss on both folds, with pinholes and a few tears in the borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
