A Folded Advertising Poster (measures 10" x 25 3/4" [25 x 65 cm]) (Learn More) Campbell Soup Company (better known as Campbell's) is an American processed food and snack food company from 1869 to the present. The company was founded by Joseph A. Campbell, and though it owns many products and brands (such as Pepperidge Farm and Swanson), Campbell's is still best known for it's canned soup products. The classic red-and-white can design used by many Campbell's products has become an American icon, and its use in pop art was typified by Andy Warhol's series of Campbell's Soup Cans prints. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that the Amos 'n' Andy radio show was sponsored by Campbell's starting in 1938 and lasted until 1943. Amos 'n' Andy was a famous 1928 - 1955 comedy radio show about two African American best friends and their families. It starred Charles Correll (as "Andy") and Freeman F. Gosden (as "Amos"). In 1930, there was a movie based on the radio show, with Correll and Gosden playing the lead roles in blackface. In 1943, a TV show version was added and it ran until 1955 (when both the TV and the radio show ended), and of course, being on TV, black actors played the parts. Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster has creases and tiny tears along portions of some edges with some separation and paper loss at the bottom of the two vertical folds. Learn More about condition grades
