Potter New York City Coney Island World War I (WWI) military romantic melodrama ("Screen Play by Waldo Salt"; "From a story by Dana Burnet"; about a Texas soldier who goes on leave in New York City, and he accidentally meets a beautiful Broadway actress, and she agrees to pretend to be his girlfriend to impress his friends, but then a real romance begins) starring Margaret Sullavan, James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart), Walter Pidgeon, Nat Pendleton, and Alan Curtis. Note that this was a remake of a 1928 movie of the same name starring Gary Cooper and Nancy Carroll! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that one-sheets from this title are extremely rare! In all our years of auctioning, we auctioned only one example of the style D one-sheet and we auctioned another one-sheet 18 years ago, but that was so long ago that we don't have an image of it, so we are not sure if it was the style C or style D, but we think it was likely the style C (and if so, then this is only the second time we have ever auctioned this, and it has been 18 years since we did!). The poster had tiny paper loss at the bottom two crossfolds and small paper loss at the top crossfold. It had some extra creases along the top horizontal fold, with paper loss at the right end of the top horizontal fold, in the right background. It had pinholes and a few tears around the edges. It had a faint stain in the left of the middle horizontal fold, in the white background and entering the blue of the star. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
