An Original 1959 (probably from the first Danish release of this movie) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Danish Movie Poster (measures 24 1/2" x 33") (Learn More) Pal Joey, the 1957 George Sidney romantic love triangle musical comedy ("Based on the play 'Pal Joey', Book by John O'Hara"; "Music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Lorenz Hart"; "produced on the stage by George Abbott"; about a handsome man who seduces women, and then he meets a woman like himself, and they hit it off wonderfully, until he meets an innocent beautiful young girl on the chorus line) starring Rita Hayworth, Frank Sinatra (in the title role as Joey Evans), Kim Novak, Barbara Nichols, Bobby Sherwood, Hank Henry, and Elizabeth Patterson NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Gaston Important Added Info: This Danish poster measures 24 1/2" x 33" and is linenbacked. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had minor creases along the foldlines. It had pinholes in the corners and some minor border defects. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, and looks great (although the restorer did not touch the censor stamp in the top right background area, which is not at all distracting, and could be easily touched up without re-backing the poster)!
