Artist: Piero Ermanno Iaia Important Added Info: Note that this poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this partially Italian movie, is VERY unusual! Almost all the other Italian posters we have seen from this movie have Paramount Pictures on them, but this poster does not, and it has a completely different image from that seen on any of the other Italian posters. Yet it seems to surely be from the first release of the movie (based on the printer and small writing at the bottom). So what to make of it? We wonder if it might not be from the very first release of the movie prior to Paramount getting involved with its distribution, possibly for a film festival release, but that is just a guess. We previously auctioned one other example of this poster in 2016, and that poster auctioned for $1,211! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this Italian two-panel was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. Note that it is difficult to accurately date Italian posters, and some unmarked re-release posters can be extremely difficult to distinguish from first releases, so please bear that in mind before you place a bid. We used our best information to date this poster, but we can't always guarantee that the Italian posters we sell are not from an unmarked re-release, but this will only prove to be true in a very tiny number of cases. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at some crossfolds and several creases along parts of many foldlines, with a few small tears and tiny bits of paper loss. There were some tears in the left blank border in the bottom half of the top section. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects, and the person who restored the poster put touch up paint on the tears described above in the left border, and it has likely aged differently than the poster, because it is very noticeable (but it will not show if the poster is framed, and of course, any restorer could touch up the border areas that are discolored to make them match). This is an extremely rare poster that will look fantastic on the new owner's wall, with or without additional restoration. Learn More about condition grades
