An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Red Dust, the classic 1932 Victor Fleming pre-Code romantic love triangle melodrama (set on a rubber plantation in Indochina, with Gable forced to choose between "good" Mary Astor, and "bad" Jean Harlow, who was basically a prostitute) starring Clark Gable, Jean Harlow, Gene Raymond, Mary Astor, Donald Crisp, and Tully Marshall. This was a pre-Code movie, and the steamy scenes between the stars helped bring about the Code (and the censorship it brought). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have previously auctioned an example of this lobby card that was heavily trimmed (we auctioned the same trimmed card twice), and we also auctioned a "poor" condition example, but we have never before auctioned a better condition example! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good. The card had a 1 1/2" tear in the lower right border just entering the very bottom right corner of the image, and someone put a tiny piece of tape on the back. It had a tiny pinhole near the center of the top blank border and a few faint smudges around the edges and in the image background. Other than the above, the card is in nice condition, and other than the tiny piece of tape, this lobby card is completely unrestored! Learn More about condition grades
