An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) Wait Until Dark, the 1967 Terence Young blind woman crime thriller ("The blinds moving up and down... the squeaking shoes... and then the knife whistling past her ear..."; "Wait"; "During the last eight minutes of this picture the theatre will be darkened to the legal limit to heighten the terror of the breathtaking climax which takes place in nearly total darkness on the screen. In those sections where smoking is permitted those patrons are respectfully requested not to jar the effect by lighting up during this sequence. And of course, no one will be seated at this time."; "Any similarity between any person, living or dead, and the characters portrayed in this film is purely coincidental and not intended"; "What did they want with her? What did they want with her?"; "Audrey Hepburn is a totally trapped girl at the mercy of Alan Arkin and Richard Crenna in Wait Until Dark"; "Based on the play by Fredrick Knott"; about a blind girl who is terrorized by a burglar) starring Audrey Hepburn (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Alan Arkin, Richard Crenna, Jack Weston, Efrem Zimbalist Jr., Jean Del Val, and Samantha Jones. Note that this movie was loosely based on a true life case, and the producers of the movie wanted to avoid any possible lawsuit, so they printed up snipes that denied any similarity between the movie and actual events, and many posters have the studio-issued snipes attached. They also asked (in the pressbook and 40x60) that theaters darken their theater in the final 8 minutes of the movie (to greatly heighten the intensity of the great surprise ending of the movie), and they printed up snipes that disclosed this to the audience, and posters often have this snipe attached as well. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has never been folded! Some pre-1970 insert posters were folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 insert posters (note that most post-1970 inserts were NOT folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those inserts). Condition: good. There are some creases and tears of varying lengths around the edges of the poster (generally 1" or less but some are larger - see our image). There are some scuffs and smudges scattered throughout. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid. Learn More about condition grades
