An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Argentinean Movie Poster (measures approximately 29" x 43") (Learn More) Bill Cody was a Canadian B-western star (both in the leading role and, more often, in bit parts) from the 1920s to the 1940s. Some of his movies include: Stagecoach, The Masked Marvel, The Animal Kingdom, and Joan of Arc. He passed away in 1948 at the age of 57. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This Argentinean poster measures approximately 29" x 43" and is linenbacked. Note that this is a "stock" poster that an Argentinean theater would use whenever they showed a Bill Cody movie (they could write in the title of the movie in the bottom blank area, or they could glue on a paper snipe). This type of poster could be used again and again. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had wear along the foldlines and some border defects including pinholes, creases, smudges, and some paper loss. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking.
