An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style A Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Son of Paleface, the 1952 Frank Tashlin cowboy western crime screwball comedy ("Written by Robert L. Welch and Joseph Quillan") starring Bob Hope, Jane Russell, Roy Rogers, Trigger (Roy Rogers' horse), Bill Williams, and Lloyd Corrigan. Note that this was sort of a sequel to 1948's "The Paleface". That movie, starring Bob Hope and Jane Russell, but not Roy Rogers, had been written by Frank Tashlin, and he was unhappy with the result. So he wrote this movie, which stars the "son" of the star of the first movie (again played by Hope), but this time, Tashlin was able to direct it himself, and one presumes he was much happier with the result! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It had creases, smudges, stains, and tears around the edges, with a few smudges and scuffs scattered throughout the image. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
