Seiter Hawaii screwball husbands-and-wives comedy (produced by Hal Roach; likely the very best Laurel & Hardy movie, this is the one where they sneak off to a Sons of the Desert convention and play ukuleles and sing "Honolulu Baby", but they lie to their wives and are reported dead in a ship sinking, and much more!) starring Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy (Laurel and Hardy), Charley Chase (primarily remembered as a great silent comedian who appeared in 276 movies, most of them comedy shorts, Chase also directed 140 comedy shorts), Mae Busch, and Dorothy Christy NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this was one of 47 "faux" lobby card sets we were consigned in 2023. WHAT ARE THESE? They were created in 2021 and 2023 by a long time collector who made faux sets like this to help pass the time when he was quarantined with COVID! He was inspired by the "Fantasy #9" lobby cards created several decades ago, each of which is from a classic horror/sci-fi movie, showing a great scene that wasn't in the original set! He used top images from each film and pasted together actual prints to create mock-ups. He then printed just THREE of each set, and he promised not to reprint them (and he has not). He numbered the first card in each set, and what we offered was the "1 of 3" of each set, which meant there are only two other sets of each, and there will never be more of those. Our consignor purchased this from one of our previous auctions of these faux lobby sets, and he has now reconsigned it to us. Condition: fine. These faux lobby cards are in excellent condition!
