An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (Learn More) Enoch Arden, the 1911 D.W. Griffith silent romantic love triangle melodrama short (based on Tennyson's classic poem, Enoch Arden, about a married man who is lost at sea, and he returns after many years to find his wife is remarried, and he still loves her, but he doesn't want to disrupt her happiness) starring Wilfrid Lucas, Linda Arvidson, Florence Labadie, and Robert Harron. Note that D.W. Griffith adapted this classic poem and directed this movie for Biograph in 1911. In 1915, Mutual remade the movie, this time directed by Christy Cabanne, but Griffith was credited as the writer, perhaps solely because he had written this earlier version.
