Date Sold 1/18/2022Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Bardelys the Magnificent, the 1926 King Vidor silent historical swashbuckling romantic melodrama (based on the story by Rafael Sabatini) starring John Gilbert (in the title role as Marquis Christian de Bardelys), Eleanor Boardman, Roy D'Arcy, Lionel Belmore, Emily Fitzroy, George K. Arthur, Arthur Lubin (as King Louis XIII), John Wayne (only 19 years-old and in an extremely early uncredited role as a guard!), and Lou Costello (an unbilled extra in his first movie!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good to fine.
