Burnett about a "perfect robbery" with a team of top professionals, but of course, everything unravels, partially through double-crosses ("A double cross blew their chance for a million-dollar pay-off!"). This story was adapted into the classic film noir the next year by John Huston, starring Sterling Hayden, Louis Calhern, Jean Hagen, and Marilyn Monroe
