An Original 1950 (from the first release of this movie in Argentina) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Argentinean Movie Poster (measures 29" x 44 1/4" [74 x 112 cm]) (Learn More)

Brindis a Manolete (literally translates to "Toast to Manolete"), the 1948 Florian Rey Spanish matador bullfighting sports biography (a highly fictionalized biography of the famous Spanish bullfighter, Manolete [Manuel Laureano Rodriguez Sanchez], who was killed in the ring just before this movie was made) starring Paquita Rico, Pedro Ortega, Manolo Moran, Ana Adamuz, Eulalia del Pino, Domingo Rivas, Manuel Iglesias, Manuel Monroy, Mercedes Castellano, and Jose Greco. In the movie, they added a long subplot about a flamenco dancer who wants to become a bullfighter to win a girl's affection, and he is trained by Manolete, who shortly after he helps the young man, he is killed in the ring, which inspires the dancer to perform one final bullfight to honor Manolete. In real life, Manolete was killed in the ring in Spain in 1947. His death came as a great shock to Spain and dictator Franco ordered three days of mourning where only funeral dirges were played on the radio!. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
