An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Mexican Movie Poster (measures 27" x 37" [69 x 94 cm]) (Learn More) Novia a la Medida (literally translates to "The Right Size for a Sweetheart"), the 1949 (released in the U.S. in 1951) Gilberto Martinez Solares Mexican romantic comedy (about a man who rescues a man having a seizure, and asks for his daughter's hand in marriage, but she loves a salesman instead!; based on the play by Antonio Paso) starring Sara Garcia, Rafael Baledon, Rosita Quintana, Amalia Aguilar, Lilia Prado, and Daniel 'Chino' Herrera Artist: Francisco Rivero Gil Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this Mexican poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this Mexican movie, and it sold for $315! Condition: fair to good. The poster has discoloration scattered throughout from exposure to moisture. It has deterioration and paper loss along several portions of the folds and crossfolds (see our image) and it is EXTREMELY fragile. Mexican posters were printed on a paper stock that often ages very poorly, and also darkens. This poster has darkened and is more fragile along the foldlines (but of course, any talented restorer could linenback the poster, after which it would look great, but it might require fairly extensive restoration).
