Inescapable their fears!"; "The Maddest Love that ever possessed a woman"; "These two together to hold you"; "Screenplay by Ben Hecht"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; a strange story of an amnesiac in a hospital who is discovered to be posing as a doctor, but when the doctor is found dead, a female psychiatrist, who has fallen in love with him, tries to find out who he really is and who really killed the doctor; the surreal dream sequences in this movie were designed by Salvador Dali!) starring Ingrid Bergman (billed as "Ingrid Bergman's First Picture since winning the Academy Award"; as a psychiatrist!), Gregory Peck, Michael Chekhov (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Leo G. Note that Rhonda Fleming was just 22 and had not had any real parts before being cast in this movie. But when she learned she was a "nymphomaniac", she said "I didn't even know what a nymphomaniac was. My mother and I had to look it up in the dictionary."! Schuyler Crail was sent by Life Magazine to photograph the scene for their next issue, and Hitchcock was so absorbed by what he was watching, that he was virtually unaware of Crail's presence! Note that this still is from a pretty remarkable collection of 20 Alfred Hitchcock stills we were consigned (which we are auctioning in 20 separate auctions). They include ones from many of his greatest movies, and seven of them have wonderful candid images showing Hitchcock, and this is one of those seven!
