An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Anna May Wong was a Chinese-American actress from the 1910s to the 1960s. Some of her movies include: Shanghai Express, Thief of Bagdad, Impact, Across to Singapore, and Piccadilly. Unfortunately, due to the prejudices of the time, the studios cast white actresses over her, even in Asian roles, having the white actresses perform in "yellowface", which meant that Miss Wong would almost always play a friend or enemy of the white actress in the lead Asian role! She passed away in 1961 at the age of 56. Important Added Info: Note that this still measures 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm]. Condition: good. There are faint thumbnail creases and scuffs scattered throughout the black background areas, but they are mostly only noticeable when the still is tilted to the light. There are also some tiny creases in the blank borders. Despite the above defects, the still displays pretty well. See our super-sized images to get a good sense of the condition of this still.
