An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Danish Movie Poster (measures approximately 24" x 33") (Learn More) Das blaue Licht (released in the U.S. as "Blue Light"), the 1932 Leni Riefestahl German mystery fantasy adventure melodrama (a heavily symbolic mystical story of a girl who lives in the German mountains, and there is one specific mountain that no one has ever been able to climb, and then she does, which causes her village to label her a witch, but she tells them of a cave filled with jewels at the top of the mountain, and they proceed to take all the jewels, which causes the girl to kill herself in protest) starring Leni Riefenstahl, Mathias Wieman, Beni Fuhrer, Max Holzboer, Martha Mair, and Franz Maldacea. Note that this movie is extremely historically significant! Leni Riefenstahl had been an actress in German movies since 1926, but after gaining notice in movies such as "The White Hell of Pitz Palu" in 1929, she was given the chance to both direct and star in this movie in 1932. Adolf Hitler and Joseph Goebbels were very much impressed by the movie, and it was because of this movie that she was later hired by them to make first "Triumph of the Will" and then "Olympia". NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Erik Frederiksen Important Added Info: Note that the art on this poster is signed "Erik F.". The artist's full name is Erik Frederiksen, and we have been told by a Danish poster expert that he not only drew movie posters in Denmark in the 1930s but he also drew travel posters. We had never seen any art by this artist prior to discovery of the Danish posters we are auctioning, and it appears that few Danish collectors or dealers had seen them either. Certainly he must be regarded as one of the premier poster artists of the 1930s, but he is not known today, likely because of the extreme scarcity of his posters. Condition: very good to fine. The poster was never folded. It has pinholes in the corners and a few creases and tiny tears in the left, right, and bottom borders. There are six small tears in the top border, three of which just enter the background. Other than the above, the poster is in really nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
