An Original 1939 (from the first release of this movie in Spain) Vintage Theatrical Spanish Movie Herald (measures 3 1/2" x 5" [9 x 13 cm]) (Learn More) Libeled Lady, the 1936 Jack Conway romantic love triangle newspaper journalism comedy (nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; an extremely complicated story of an heiress, played by Myrna Loy, who sues a newspaper for libel, and the editor, played by Tracy, is afraid he will lose, so he hires Powell to catch Loy in a compromising situation with the help of his girlfriend, played by Harlow, who will instead temporarily marry Powell to make the scheme work, but of course, Powell and Loy end up actually falling in love, and everything works out in the end) starring Jean Harlow, William Powell, Myrna Loy, Spencer Tracy, Walter Connolly, and Inez Palange (uncredited as the fortune teller). Can anyone imagine today's studios making a movie with so many top level stars? It is extremely rare to see three top stars in any movie, but this movie had four of the all-time greatest, and it is a thoroughly enjoyable movie! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
