Living in Mystery!"; "World's No. 1 Mystery Novel on the Screen!"; "Based on the Famous Novel 'The Woman in White' by Wilkie Collins"; about an old English mansion that seems to be haunted by a ghostly woman who bears a strange resemblance to one of the current inhabitants) starring Eleanor Parker, Alexis Smith, Sydney Greenstreet, Gig Young, Agnes Moorehead, and John Emery. Note that this is a well regarded adaptation of this classic novel, and there have been many screen adaptations of it over the years, and more recently Andrew Lloyd Weber made a Broadway musical version. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at the bottom crossfold and fine surface paper loss on parts of the folds. It had some pinholes around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
