He can live only 7 minutes in the freezing water."; "The terrible enemy ICE, crushing, terrifying! Could the ice-breaker save them?"; "Dare-devil rescue of the long lost party."; "Blizzard on the carrier deck! They risked untold damage to reach The Secret Land."; this film recorded the exploits of one of the largest expeditions undertaken to explore the frozen continent, Antarctica) starring "Men and Ships of the U.S. Navy", and narrated by Comdr. Robert Montgomery ("U.S.N.R."), Lt. Robert Taylor ("U.S.N.R."), and Lt. Van Heflin ("A.A.F. [Ret.]") NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Note that we gave this condition grade to a very few posters that were in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking, but which were not all that well linenbacked, and which could be fairly easily re-backed with only minor additional restoration. The poster had tiny paper loss at the top crossfold and minor fold and border wear. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking.
