An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked British Quad Movie Poster (BQ; Quad Crown; measures approximately 30" x 40") (Learn More) Downhill Racer, the 1969 Michael Ritchie Winter Olympics skiing sports melodrama ("How fast must a man go to get from where he's at?"; "Written by James Salter"; based on the novel by Oakley Hall) starring Robert Redford, Gene Hackman, Camilla Sparv, Joe Jay Jalbert, and Tom J. Kirk. Note that early publicity items on this movie refer to it as "The Downhill Racer", yet we have never seen any poster reference it as anything other than "Downhill Racer". NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. The poster had minor wear on the foldlines and some smudges and scuffs in the black background areas. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Note that at some point after linenbacking, the poster was roughly handled and there are now minor creases in the top and bottom borders of the excess linen only, and not in the poster itself. This would diminish greatly if the poster were put under weight, and it would not show at all if the poster was framed. Learn More about condition grades
