Date Sold 8/21/2008Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 11" x 17"; 20 pages) (Learn More) Born to Kill (also released as "Deadlier Than the Male"), the classic 1947 Robert Wise romantic love triangle crime film noir ("Bullet-Man and Silken Savage"; "The coldest killer a woman ever loved"; about a beautiful divorced woman who could marry a rich man, but she is fatally attracted to a cold blooded psychopathic killer!) starring Lawrence Tierney, Claire Trevor, Walter Slezak, Phillip Terry, Audrey Long, and Elisha Cook Jr. Note that Lawrence Tierney portrayed the lead character so convincingly that it is hard to imagine that he wasn't a little "off" himself! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this pressbook has been personally autographed (signed) by star Lawrence Tierney twice (once on the top of the pressbook cover, and once just above the title). He did not personalize it to Ray Campi, but he signed it for Ray Campi when the two met. This autographed movie paper item comes to us from the personal collection of Ray Campi. Ray Campi was born in 1934 and in the 1950s, was a rockabilly musician, whose trademark was his white double bass (he is sometimes referred to as "The King of Rockabilly"). He left the performing life in the 1960s (after having supplemented his music career with lots and lots of unusual jobs!) and spent many years as a high school teacher, and also conducted hundreds of radio interviews with famous celebrities of past years (from movies, radio, TV, and music!) over a 25 year period. When he would schedule a guest for his interviews, he would obtain some movie paper memorabilia (almost always original release items, but sometimes re-releases, and in rare cases reproductions), and he would have that famous celebrity autograph those items while they conducted their interviews. eMoviePoster.com is offering these items directly from the collection of Ray Campi. In these days where so many people worry about the provenance of autographed items, it is so nice to be able to purchase items that were 100% certainly obtained in person, because Ray Campi was with the celebrity in question while they were signing this item! Those interested in learning more about Ray Campi can visit his website at http://www.electricearl.com/campi.html, and as he says on his site, "Ray Campi wants everyone to know that 'all rumors about my being dead are lies!' Ray would like to thank his friends for worrying about him." eMoviePoster.com is proud to offer this group of items from the Ray Campi collection, and we hope to offer many more in the future! Condition: good to very good. THE PRESSBOOK IS COMPLETE AND UNCUT (very unusual for pressbooks, which were intended to have newspaper ads cut out of them). The front and back covers have separated from the rest of the pressbook and there is 4" of separation in the right of the middle of the cover, where the pressbook was folded in half. Otherwise, the pressbook is in pretty good condition! Learn More about condition grades
