Thrilling!"; "Love is wild... Life is violent... Death is cheap!"; "Child of the Devil... She lives by the code of the Vendetta."; "She lives by the code of the Vendetta!"; produced by Howard Hughes; about a beautiful woman who wants to avenge her father's murder and gets her brother to do the actual work) starring Faith Domergue, George Dolenz (billed as "introducing George Dolenz"), Hillary Brooke, Nigel Bruce, Joseph Calleia, Hugo Haas, and Donald Buka. Note that this movie has an extremely unusual history! Preston Sturges originally intended to write and direct it, but he was fired by Howard Hughes, who then hired Max Ophuls, and then he too was fired, and Mel Ferrer ended up directing it. The movie was very ill-fated, being filmed in 1946 at a then-incredible cost of $4 million, and it was so lavish because Hughes wanted to give a proper showcase to his latest protege Faith Domergue, but the movie ended up being shelved for four years, and it was not released until 1950! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had a second vertical fold 1/2" to the right of the regular one. There was paper loss at the top crossfold and tears and tiny paper loss scattered down that second fold, with a lesser amount of wear on the other folds. There were pinholes and some tears around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
