An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Italian Locandina Movie Poster (measures 13" x 28") (Learn More) Boccaccio '70, the 1962 Vittorio De Sica, Luchino Visconti, Federico Fellini, & Mario Monicelli Italian/French multi-part fantasy comedy ("The first 3-act motion picture ever presented!"; "Three stories of the sexes... Somewhat daring, somewhat different, somewhat delicious... "; "which Boccaccio might have included in his 'Decameron' for understanding audiences of 1970."; "Vittorio De Sica directs Academy Award Winner Sophia Loren"; "Federico Fellini directs Anita Ekberg"; "Luchino Visconti directs Romy Schneider"; "'The Raffle', 'The Temptation of Dr. Antonio', 'The Job'") starring Sophia Loren, Anita Ekberg, Romy Schneider, Peppino DeFilippo, Tomas Milian, Romolo Valli, and Alfio Vita. The three sections in the U.S. version of this movie are: "The Raffle", "The Temptation of Dr. Antonio", and "The Job", but actually, the original Italian version has 4 parts, with the 4th being "Renzo & Luciana" directed by Mario Monicelli. When the movie was released in the U.S. and Germany, Monicelli's contribution was deleted, likely because the film ran too long and because he was not known outside of Italy. So the original Italian posters show four directors in director chairs, while the U.S. and German posters only show three! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this Italian locandina measures 13" x 28" and is linenbacked. Also note that this is a rare "country of origin' poster for this Italian movie! Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had creases and smudges across the center fold and creases, smudges, and some small tears around the edges of the poster and in the light background areas. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but the restorer did not address the faint smudges (which are truly not very distracting). Learn More about condition grades
