An Original Vintage Linenbacked German Circus Poster (measures 28" x 37" [71 x 94 cm]) (Learn More) Circus Maxo, the circa 1920s German circus poster promoting a performance involving "Young Atlas The Marvel", and featuring art of a charging bull and "Young Atlas". Note that this poster was printed by the Adolph Friedlander company, one of the largest lithographic printing company for circuses, fairground attractions, variety shows and individual artists. After Adolph Friedlander's death, the company was continued by his sons, Ludwig and Max-Otto. It was Max-Otto who started the Circus Maxo. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this German circus poster! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had some tiny bits of surface paper loss on the folds and minor border wear. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
