An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) A Yank on the Burma Road, the 1942 George B. Seitz Southeast Asia World War II (WWII) patriotic romantic adventure melodrama ("A dangerous girl! A dangerous guy! Hold tight - It's terrific!") starring Laraine Day, Barry Nelson, Stuart Crawford, Keye Luke, and Victor Sen Yung. Note that this movie was one of the earliest releases mentioning the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Also note that third-billed Stuart Crawford was a somewhat bland young actor who appeared in seven movies between 1942 and 1944. We imagine that MGM had an extreme shortage of younger leading men at this time because of World War II, but apparently, when the war ended, so did Mr. Crawford's career. If anyone knows more about him, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned two examples of this one-sheet, and only one in the last 13 years! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and a few tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some folds. It had tape stains in the corners. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
