An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) One Week, the 1920 Edward F. Cline & Buster Keaton silent romantic marriage house building slapstick comedy short ("Enter Buster Keaton"; "His first side-splitting comedy"; about a couple who buys a prefabricated house and need to assemble it themselves, but they don't know that a rival has sabotaged them by changing the numbering on the parts!) starring Buster Keaton, Joe Roberts, and Sybil Seely. Note that this was Buster Keaton's first solo movie without Fatty Arbuckle, and he co-directed it. Also note that no scale models were used in the filming (the actual full size house was used throughout!). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper items from this movie are incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a Danish program from this movie (and NO other movie paper) until we received this lobby card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Also note that this lobby card has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the lobby card was backed onto a very light paper backing (acid-free), that keeps the "feel" of the lobby card similar to that of the original lobby card. Some restorers prefer to paperback lobby cards on to a heavy backing, while others prefer to use a very lightweight backing. The advantage of a lightweight backing is that the card still "feels" like a regular lobby card, but a heavier backing makes restoration easier to do and less noticeable. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. Prior to paperbacking, the card had 1 1/2" neatly trimmed from the right border and an equal amount trimmed from the bottom border. This affected all of the Metro logo at bottom right and the bottom half of Buster Keaton's credit, plus the title, and other than parts of two shoes, it only affected background areas. The great image of Keaton, his bride, and all the bystanders were pretty unaffected. There were some pinholes in the top blank border. Overall, the lobby card was in fair condition prior to paperbacking. A restorer recreated the missing areas and joined them to the existing area through paperbacking. You can see a line across the bottom where the join is. Also, the card was slightly roughly handled and has creases in the top left blank corner. In spite of the above defects, the card displays pretty well, and of course, additional restoration could be performed to this extremely rare lobby card. Learn More about condition grades
