An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Big Benefit, the 1933 Lynn Shores musical comedy short starring Rae Samuels, Bill 'Bojangles' Robinson, Ann Seymour, Evans and Mayer (Edith Evans and Ray Mayer, but this Edith Evans is not the famous actress of that name!), Leon Janney, the Four Mullen Sisters, and Pops and Louie. Note that we could find next-to-no information on this obscure short, but we were able to learn that the actors (some of whom were African American and some of whom were white) were all based in New York City at this time, and the poster advertises it as a comedy, and there are a large number of kids pictured, so it sounds like a sort of "let's put on a show" juvenile comedy. We know that Bill 'Bojangles' Robinson dances to Swanee River. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some slight ink transfer scattered in the yellow background areas (caused by another poster laying on top of this one too quickly after it was printed). Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
