An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) The Cat Creeps ...While the Canary Sleeps, the 1930 Rupert Julian haunted house horror mystery thriller ("The thrilling chilling spooky melodrama"; "Weird, baffling, fascinating drama! Eerie excitement! Shivery suspense!"; "From a John Willard smashing stage hit") starring Helen Twelvetrees, Raymond Hackett, Lilyan Tashman, Jean Hersholt, Neil Hamilton, Matagu Love, Theodore Von Eltz, Lawrence Grant, Elizabeth Patterson, and Blance Freuerici. Note that this was an early sound remake (just three years later) of the 1927 silent movie, "The Cat and the Canary", which had been directed by Paul Leni. As was popular for a brief time in 1930 and 1931, it was simultaneously made in a Spanish language version, "La voluntad del muerto", with an entirely different cast (headed by Antonio Moreno and Lupita Tovar), just as a Spanish language version of "Dracula" was made the following year (also by Universal). Note that this is a "lost" film which means that only a few minutes of footage is thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still measures 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm]. Condition: very good. There is the tiniest of paper loss in the top left corner and some creases and tiny bits of surface paper loss in small parts of the borders (see our images). Learn More about condition grades
